CHUMMY EVENINGS
Throughtout the Summer on Wednesday evenings from 17.30 onwards a "Roll up" takes place. This is a friendy game of bowls with mixed teams. People join in and leave, playing as much or as little as they want. For others it is a social event to sit and watch the bowls, have a chat over a glass of wine on a warm summers evening.

Benalmadena

This is also a good oportunity for new players to have a try and see how they get on. Bowls can be borrowed and there is a minimal charge of £1.00 green fee. New members are always welcome whether you are an established player or a novice. Members are always on around to lend a hand.
After the bowls we all retire to the club house for a few nibbles and drinks.

Rex and June's Presidents Day 5th July 2008

Although blustery the sun was shining. After drinks and the photograph we all bowled for the bottle of whiskey, this was won by Steve Rodwell, well done Steve, but don't drink it all at once!

There followed a very enjoyable afternoon of bowling. Every rink seemed to be having a fun afternoon, and enjoying the swap around format of the bowling. After the bowls game we all retired to the Rothley Village Hall, where Mrs Rosita Clues and her team had prepared a superb meal. There followed the prizes for the winning rink which was won by rink 4 team members :Brian Saunders, Joy Bate, June Taylor and Ron Flight, well done to the four of you.

Mrs Margot Brookman was presented with a bouquet of flowers for her 80th birthday which she had celebrated a few days earlier. In appreciation of her hardwork during her year of office June Kemp was also presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Everyone who attended the afternoon was given a small momento of the occasion.

Thank you Rex and June for a most entertaining afternoon.
