IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS

ROTHLEY BOWLING CLUB – FUND RAISING 2008

As you will see from the Management Committee Minutes much-needed work to the green surrounds is still outstanding. To have this done properly is likely to be very costly and at the present time we are not in a position financially to get this done. However the situation is becoming increasingly urgent and therefore we would ask all our members to do their utmost this season to support all the fund raising events.

A good start was made with the RACE NIGHT which raised in the region of £800.

It has been proposed that we run an on-going raffle throughout the season with tickets being sold at every home game and at the Autumn Fayre. We are therefore appealing for the donation of a 1L bottle of Whiskey as a main prize. Carole and John Law have agreed to supply a large tin of Cadbury’s Roses (or Quality Street) as a second prize. If you are in a position to help, please contact either Dennis Roe or Mavis Barratt.

Other Fund Raising Events scheduled so far are:-

Fish and Chip Supper - Saturday 2 August

Joint Finals Day – Sunday 7 September

Autumn Fayre – Saturday 22 November

Please make a note in your diaries and keep your eyes on the Notice Boards for further information.

The support of every member is absolutely vital if these events are to be successful. Please publicise them amongst your family, friends and neighbours as much as possible.

Help is particularly needed with the Autumn Fayre – we need to get as many people through the doors as possible, but it is no good getting people in if we have nothing to sell. Donations of items for the following stalls will be needed
Cakes and home made provisions
Bottles (anything from spirits and wine to bottles water, bath oil to cooking oil) for the bottle tombola.
Crafts
Gardening
Bric-a-brac
Plus prizes for the raffle
